Abstract
The following paper aims to present a theoretical and conceptual reflection on the land conflict from the perspective of Walter Benjamin, whose dialectical viewpoint outlines historical aspects of memory in the Mexican agrarian conflict. Land as one of the main conflicts in Mexico has been a source of discontent and social dissent, aspects that have allowed the search for organizational strategies for the preservation of the territory. In the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (southeast of Oaxaca), there is a long history of struggle for the possession of land that is updated in time, in moments of history in which the State and Capital have besieged the territory. Against the grain, it is remarkable the participation of peasants, who claim their rights when facing structural violence as a battlefield (Traverso, 2012); in which experience reappears as a means of struggle.
